1916 - A silent film version of the famous undersea adventure book by Jules Verne. It tells the story of Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus.
Directed by Stuart Paton and made by The Universal Film Manufacturing Company (now known as Universal Pictures), this was one of the most expensive movies ever made at the time, with large sets, exotic costumes, sailing ships, and a submarine. The film had groundbreaking underwater photography by George M. Williamson and J. Ernest Williamson. Running Time: 105 Minutes.
