Movie Reviews of Wristcutters: A Love Story
- Wristcutters: A love Story
Wristcutters: A Love Story is about a man named Zia who kills himself. Almost the entire movie takes place in the parallel reality: a world full of people who "offed" themselves.
In my opinion the story theme is very overused, but the movie presented it in such an adorable indie film junky/hipstey fashion that I couldn't help but love the movie. The music and actors were brilliantly picked, even if some of the acting itself had a flat, "too cool for you" feel to it, I still found the characters interesting. (By the way, Tom Waits was given a great character. If you don't have any other reason to watch the movie, let Tom's character compel you to see this film. I guarantee you'll fall in love will him.)
And even though the films subject goo is dark, director Goran Dukic some how made it an uplifting film about the joys of life.
Overall, definitely an indie film I would recommend a mainstreamer to see.
