Movie Reviews of The Princess and the Frog
- Disney's The Princess and the Frog
One of the cutest Disney movies in a long time. Loved the songs... very addicting!
- The princess and the Frog (Disney) Animated Feature A++++
I was first saw the DVD in the Walmart the same week it was released in theaters. When Studios does that I usually means that they don't think it will do well and there is a need to maximize profit margin. I looked at the DVD cover and said to myself " Oh look Disney is trying to make a African American Princess. I figured that they had put minimal effort into the film and advertising. And this was just a sudo superficial film to appease a minority group. I tossed the film back into rack and snub it. A year or more later my daughter wanted to see it. I rented it for a dollar. Low and behold it is good. Not kind of good Really Good, Excellent Family, Animated Musical. Toe tapping, sing along songs, engaging Characters. Story is well developed for kids and Adults. My Daughter watched the film everyday for a week. I finally returned the rental and purchased the DVD. I can't tell you how many times we have re-watch this movie. Randy Newman beautifully created very memorable songs. A twist of Gospel, Jazz, zydeco, blues...I just love it. The Brothers Grimm tale is reborn into New Disney Classic. I'm hoping that it will follow the lead of other Films Like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King to a Broadway style live stage version.
