Movie Reviews of The Parent Trap

  • The Parent Trap (1998) stars Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Richardson, and Dennis Quaid. Now, over a decade later, it is hard to imagine Lindsay Lohan as a cute pre-teen girl, but she is charming in both of her roles as the twin sisters who were separated at birth when their parents divorced. Instead of an emaciated face with craggy cheekbones, she has cute, round cheeks and a quirky smile. Although the dialogue tends to be a little bit stilted at times, it is a nice remake of the earlier version, and Lindsay Lohan gives Haley Mills a run for her money.

  • "The Parent Trap" is one of my favorite movies. It is cute, funny, innocent, and always made me want to be a twin. Susan and Sharon, both played by Hayley Mills in the original, were separated as babies, each raised by one parent, and meet by chance at summer camp at the age of 13. They decide to switch places so they can meet the parent that did not raise them...and try to get their parents back together again. It is full of tricks and twists, and shows the bond that sisters can have. I have never gotten tired of this movie and probably never will.
