Movie Reviews of The Dark Knight
- "The Dark Knight," directed by Christopher Nolan, received a lot of notoriety even before it was released because of the untimely death of co-star Heath Ledger. In this case, the advance buzz was justified, as Ledger's performance as the Joker is very uniquely creepy and one of the most memorable aspects of the film. Ledger's Joker isn't scary simply because he's a murdering psychopath, but because he is unpredictable and random. The entire time I was first watching the film, I just felt nervous whenever he was on screen because you never had any clear sense when he was going to tell a joke, act silly, or suddenly and viciously murder someone. At the same time, he was somehow charming, and had arguments about the meaninglessness of life that were almost compelling. It gave Batman a truly challenging adversary whose only drawback was that he in many ways stole the picture from the hero. But overall, this was worth it, because the Joker and his machinations, though over the top and unbelievable, were entirely gripping. There was a lot more that was worth watching, but this alone made the movie worth the price of admission.
- The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight is definately a movie of historic proportions. Heath Ledger's final movie, and his best acting to date. The Joker is actually somewhat terrifying. I would recommend if by some chance you haven't seen this movie, GO and see it!
