- No one appreciates a good story any more, and if there is a story to be had, it's old and re-hashed. Every other film is all about the special effects. Enter /The Brothers Bloom/ stage left. The Brothers Bloom tells the story of two brothers, Stephen and Bloom, who are con artists. When Bloom wants out of the business, Stephen manages to lure him back in for their one last con - a big one involving a pretty heiress and her fortune. This could lead to a traditional romantic comedy, but don't be fooled. Beneath the veneer of beautiful locations and a wonderful soundtrack lies a film film of subtleties and character. The acting, plot, and ending are all spot-on, taking the viewer through a wonderful work of storytelling.
