Movie Reviews of Romeo and Juliet
- ROMEO AND JULIET.
This is my best ever watched movie. It was actually the first movie that I watched. This movie is simply a 1966 American adaptation of William Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy. It is indeed an abridged modernization of Shakespeare’s play, designed to appeal to a younger modern audience. This is done while care is taken to maintain the original Shakespeare’s dialogue.
The movie takes place in a fictional place called Verona Beach, although a brief part of it is acted in a place called Mantua. Verona Beach is the center of a corporate war between two leaders of industry, Montague and Capulet, rather than just a family feud. The film depicts the two families in an extremely modernized way compared to the original Shakespearean version.
The movie ends on a sad mood as the two youths kill themselves on suspicion that they will never see each other. The story both brings forth the dangerous nature of love as well as its positive traits. It depicts true love because when you are in it, you promise to die for each other.
