Movie Reviews of Quarantine

  • It was just yesterday that I sat on my sofa to watch Quarantine. I am a huge fan of horror movies but I do not normally like to watch movies that are in first person view, no matter what the genre is. So seeing the trailer of Quarantine on TV I decided to give it a chance. Being not used to watching movies that are in first person view, after seeing this I do not think I will see another like it. If you do want to see this film, do not read this review because there are some spoilers.

So basically the movie is about a reporter named Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) who are doing a report on the night shift firefighters. They end up getting a call from the police or whoever that there is this big medical problem at this apartment complex, when they arrive they see the cops and they enter into the building (well only two cops enters with them).Okay so this all sounds neat and fun… the owner of the building takes them up stairs to check on one of the people who has been in her room for days. They walk in, see her just standing there (her back to them) and they call her. She doesn’t answer and they still go up to her. Turning her around, seeing the white foam coming out of her mouth, black eyes, and she’s breathing hard, the cop STILL tries to communicate with her. She ends up biting him (Go figure) and he turns into an Infected Zombie that has rabies! The people run out of the room and close the door. Then suddenly the building gets locked down by the ‘other bunches’ of cops outside so no one can get out… okay…this is when the movie starts.
So come to find out the apartment complex is infected with rabies, the mice, humans and even, dogs can have it and most do. As smart as the characters are (not) they decide to just gather everyone up into the main hall and sit there.

But that is not what bugs me about the movie. Because we are seeing throw the cameraman’s ‘camera’ it is super hard to see everything. The person recording the movie was jumping every where, it was so shaky. My head was beyond aching.
Another thing about this horrible movie is that the Reporter is running around the movie acting really idiotic, screaming and screaming. Like yeah I would be scared to but… anyways. And two times in this movie they show the same infected person, SERIOUSLY she dies two times…

There were some funny scenes through this monstrosity, like when the cameraman killed the infected girl (Which was the one that showed up about 20 minutes later again) using his camera. Oh it was also funny when the infected dog bit the guy who was trying to escape by going back on the elevator.

I do not think any one should sit through this horrible movie, this movie was a waste of approximately 89 minutes. It is like making one suffer, being that the movie is filled with mess ups and in some ways it doesn’t even make sense.
I would rate this movie a 2/5. I would love to rate it lower but the last 5 minutes were pretty cool. I still think it is stupid that everyone dies. This film does have some potential but I think they could of did a lot better. But really, AVOID this movie, I really hope soon directors will stop doing the whole “Blair Witch” thing with the first person views, like seriously its just not cool and it gives people major headaches. There is still something I do not understand about this movie… Where did the boy come from in the attic…and how did he even get up there?
