Movie Reviews of Letters To Juliet

  • My friend wanted to see 'Letter's to Juliet' this past weekend so I went with her. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting much from the movie except a cliche romantic comedy. I have to say that even though it falls into this category, it is one of the best romantic comedies that I have seen. I did not always see what was coming like I do in many other movies which is part of the reason I love it so much. Although it is more of a chick flick I believe there are so guys out that who get into this movie. It is worth watching in the theater!

  • This is a review for the movie, "Letters to Juliet". It was an excellent movie. I'd rate it 3 1/2 stars out of 4. It was a very romantic story. Actually it was 2 romantic stories. the first was the young aspiring writer and her fiance. He is tryiong to open a restaurant as well as plan his wedding. So they go off to Italyon what is supposed to be a vacation but soon turns into a business trip for him. Meanhwuile the young heroine discovers the supposed wall that stood between the Montague house and that of the Capulets. Millions of women write letters to Juliet about their love lifes often asking for advice. Each day the letters are collected and ansered by a group of Italian women who consider themselves to be Juliets secretaries. the heroine follows one of these secretaries one day and makes friends with these ladies. In fact they like her so much that they let her answwer a letter she found in the wall that had been hidden there many years aago. she answers the letter and surprisingly enough the writer actually comes to Verona to find her lost love. Enter Vanessa Redgrave and grandson. These three then search the Italian countryside for the missing love. The movie then shows a whle group of possible lovers who turn out to be the wrong one. Eventually Vanessa Reedgrave does find her true love (her reeal life husband Franco Nero no less). In the meantime Vanessa pushes her grandson and the young heroine together. She breaks up with her fiance because he is too involved with his retaurant instead of her and goes to Italy to attend the wdedding of Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero where she is reuniteed with the grandson and everyone lives happily ever after.

the plot is pretty standard but what makes this such a sweet movie is that Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero finally married each other in 2006 after being an on again/off again couple for nearly 40 years. It makes the entire movie very pignant and sweet. Awww!
