Movie Reviews of It's Complicated

  • I recently watched It's Complicated starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin and enjoyed the movie immensely. It was a well put together story about the ins and outs of divorce and its complications. The movie shows the effects of divorce on a family as well as the outcome. However I found that the ex-husband marrying the stereotypical "younger woman" to be over played. The weakness in the character that Steve Martin played was quirky and adorable. I would definitely recommend this movie to others!

  • One of the best movies you can rent this Summer is "It's Complicated" starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin. I was a little hesitant to rent it at first but gave into my wife's suggestions and gave it a shot. From the start, the movie was hilarious and had us rolling on the floor in laughter. It's really been a long time since I laughed so hard at a movie. This great comedy starts with Meryl's character Jane hooking up with her exhusband Jake, played by Alec Baldwin at, of all things, their grown son's college graduation! One thing leads to another and the two start up an affiar (since Jake is now married to the young woman who broke up their marriage). Rejuvinated by the affiar, Jane decides to remodel and add on to her house. The architect who shows up to help her with the remodel is Adam, played by Steve Martin, and the two also hit it off. As you can imagine, the rest of the movie revloves around the three and Jane keeps Jake chasing after her and jealous of Adam. The movie also includes a hilarious pot-smoking scene in a bathroonm with Jane, Jake, and her daughter's boyfriend played by John Krasinski (from The Office). Best of all, the entire movie seems to flow nicely, unlike some comedys where the stars try to hard. I give this one an A+ and suggest you put it on your must see list!
