Movie Reviews of Harold and Maude
- Harold and Maude (1971)
This movie is a romantic and hilarious tale of an wealthy young man obsessed with death and mortality and a older woman that marches to the beat of her own drum. The antics and hang ups of the two are hilarious and sentimental, at times. Though it can be called a "romantic comedy" it should not be lumped in with the genre as this film stands on its own does not include the idealized feminine or masculine roles or anyone being swept off their feet, rescued, discovered or otherwise cheesey plot devices. It is a wonderful, funny and poignant film. Highly recommended.
