- Extraordinary Measures - I'm pretty sure I would have considred this an excellent movie, if only I could have finished it. Normally, getting through an emotional scene isn't that difficult for me. Even if I get teary-eyed, I can quickly get over it and move on. Not this time. Within the first twenty or so minutes, I'd already grown attached enough to the characters that I identified deeply when they experienced grief. My tears came out so uncontrollably that my husband stopped the movie and switched us over to some 80's teenage romance comedy. I'd like to blame my outburst on pregnancy hormones, but I'm pretty sure it had to do more with the fact that Extraordinary Measures is a true-to-life drama about some of the unexplainable tragedies of our existence.
