I am fan of Christian Bale and this movie is one of his best's. Movie has good story and even better message : Why to live if you don't want to feel? Without emotions life is only a ticking clock. In this postmodern movie people who survived "third world war" are sure they won't survive another one. They concluded that main reason for human will for destruction are human emotions. So, the medicine called "Prosium" was invented
to kill human feelings. Main character Preston (Bale) is at first convinced how Prosium helps world but he changes his mind when he had to kill his partner and woman who he have loved had been executed. The only crime they have done is that they dared to feel. Movie also has fine action scenes in which were used so called "Gun Katas". Deadly art which is combining martial arts and fire weapons.
Bale acted well his character. Movie also has beautiful soundtrack that combines choruses, orchestral and electronic music. My only complain is little to big usage of computer animation. Definitely movie worth watching for.
