Movie Reviews of Crazy Heart
- CrazyHeart. Jeff Bridges recently won the Academy Award for is role as an alcoholic country singer. I didn't understand the win. First, the plot is hackneyed. Derivative or Tender Mercies, also about a washed up country singer, and more recently The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke. Wht does Hollywood insist on these formulaeic plots? And Why do we as an audience continue to run to these movies. Haven't we seen them before. Particularly stupid in Crazy Heart was the scene where Maggie Gyllenhal leaves her son in the custody of Jeff Bridges, who proceeds to take the kid to a bar, and then lose him. What Mother in her right mind would entrust their child to the care of a man like this?
