Movie Review of New moon
Director: Chris Weitz
Cast: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner
Review:
The vampires are back and how. The next installment of Stephanie Meyer’s classic “New Moon” starts of where Twilight left. Edward parts ways with Bella as he thinks his world is too dangerous for her. A distraught Bella befriends Jacob who comforts her but has a secret of his own. Riding on hype created by the book as well as its predecessor “New Moon” has been touted as highest grosser on a single day.
When Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) 18th birthday party at the Cullen’s turns into an unfortunate affair, Edward (Robert Pattinson) decides to leave her as he realizes that he and his kind are very harmful for Bella. A lovelorn Bella finds that the only way she can connect with Edward is when she is in peril. She takes help from Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) in order to renovate an old bike and continues to put herself in threatening situations. She finds solace and comfort in Jacob’s company and the two embark on a close-knit relationship. Meanwhile Jacob also has a secret as he is member of the Quileute tribe. Edward who is made to believe that Bella is dead due to certain miscommunications decides to invoke the wrath of Volturi, a kind of vampire royalty so that he gets killed too. Battling all adversities Bella must make a tremulous journey in order to save her only love.
“New Moon” might witness loyal fans thronging to theatres in heaps and dozens but for those who haven’t read the book it continues to be a total disappointment. Kristen Stewart is caught in the garb of a sniveling teenager whose sole aim in life is to put herself in danger so that she catch a glimpse of her lover. It’s the slow pace and mindless heaving and sighing that makes the movie a sorry affair for the moviegoers. The final verdict: One of the most awaited films of the year turns out to be a dud. Some books are best left alone.
