Movie Review of Everbody s Fine
Director: Kirk Jones
Cast: Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell
Review:
Director Kirk Jones has come up with a typical Christmas movie just to lighten up the mood so that when you come out of theatres one could just say “what a cute little movie that was”. Everybody’s fine is inspired by Giuseppe Tornatore's Stanno Tutti Bene. Everybody’s fine is Robert De Niro’s latest flick where a lonely old father is trying to reconnect the broken bridge between his children after the death of his wife. No one is fine in Everybody’s fine.
Everybody’s fine is a movie about an old man who wants his family to gather after his wife dies. Just then all his children cancel their visit just at the last moment. Sad father then decides to visit every one of his children in order to give them surprise and is himself surprised to see that none of his children is fine and they all are living a life which is completely different then what he expected. Its definitely not the fact that that his children don’t love him in fact they love him a lot that they have kept him in dark about their harsh lives in order to protect him.
It is quite a shock to see that Robert De Niro playing a role as an old man but actually it is his acting that has saved the movie from releasing directly as DVDs. Robert De Niro has beautifully played the role of father and is accompanied by some good performances shown by drew Barrymore and Kate Bekinsale. It is quite evident that Robert De Niro has played an Oscar winning role in this movie. Everybody’s fine is clearly a predictable average holiday movie which fails to draw people to theatres.
